Who we are
Compassionate Careers Project: Compassionate Careers Project (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides purpose-led career-education content and tools, including career snapshots, an events calendar, an ethical organisations directory, and (in time) webinars, self-paced courses and the “Curio” helper. Some services may be free; others may be paid (e.g., 1:1 mentoring).
Accepting these terms
By accessing or using compassionatecareersproject.com (the “Site”) and our related services (the “Services”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site/Services.
Who may use the Services
Our Site is for everyone, including young people under 18.
- Under-18s are welcome to browse and use our free educational content.
- Where an action involves sharing personal information, creating an account, or purchasing/booking a paid service (e.g., 1:1 mentoring), a parent/guardian’s involvement may be appropriate depending on your circumstances.
- Schools, parents/carers and educators may also use the Site to support young people.
What we do (and don’t) provide
All information is general in nature and educational only. It is not individual career advice, legal, medical, financial or psychological advice.
We do not guarantee that any particular career path, event, course or organisation is suitable for you. Please make your own enquiries and decisions.
AI-generated content & accuracy
Some content or responses (including “Curio”) may be AI-generated. AI can be incorrect or incomplete. You should verify important information with trusted sources. We may change, remove or correct content at any time.
Ethical Organisations Directory & external links
The directory lists third-party organisations and may include links to their websites. We do not own, operate or control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, policies, accuracy, availability, or practices.
Inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement or guarantee. Please assess suitability and safety yourself.

Events Calendar & webinars/courses
Event details are provided in good faith but can change. Always check the organiser’s official page before attending or purchasing tickets.
For our own webinars/courses, we will provide session details and any applicable terms at the time of registration.
1:1 mentoring (if offered)
Mentoring is a general educational consultation—not therapeutic, legal, medical or financial advice.
Cancellations/Rescheduling: You may cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before the appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours may be charged or forfeited.
No-shows: We may treat a no-show as a completed session.
Refunds: Where you are a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), your statutory rights and guarantees apply and cannot be excluded.
Accounts, communications & consent
If you create an account or join a waitlist, you must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
You consent to us emailing you about the Site/Services. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Your conduct
You agree not to:
a) breach any law; b) misuse, disrupt or harm the Site; c) attempt to access others’ data; d) infringe intellectual property; e) post unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or discriminatory content; f) harass, bully or impersonate others.
We may remove content or restrict access for suspected breaches.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, all content on the Site (including text, graphics, logos, layouts and compilations) is our intellectual property or used with permission. You may use content for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You must not copy, modify, distribute or exploit our content without permission.
Feedback & user content
If you submit feedback, reviews or materials (“User Content”), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce and communicate that content to operate and improve the Services (including testimonials), subject to our Privacy Policy. You must have the right to submit any User Content you provide.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and handle personal information, including when users are under 18. By using the Services, you consent to our privacy practices.
Directory participation (for organisations)
Listings: We may offer free or paid listings, featured placements and/or sponsorships.
Accuracy: You are responsible for the accuracy of your listing and for complying with applicable laws (including advertising and consumer laws).
Performance: We may provide basic analytics (e.g., views/clicks). Performance is not guaranteed.
Removal: We may edit, suspend or remove a listing (e.g., for inaccuracy, complaints, or policy reasons).
Payment: Fees (if any) will be disclosed at purchase and are subject to any specific listing/pilot terms.
Payment terms (where applicable)
Prices are shown in AUD and inclusive/exclusive of GST as specified.
You authorise us (or our payment processor) to charge your selected payment method.
Refunds will be managed in line with these Terms and your rights under the ACL
Availability & changes
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any non-excludable rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Subject to those rights, to the maximum extent permitted by law:
- the Services are provided “as is”; and
- we exclude all liability for any loss or damage arising out of or related to your use of the Site/Services or reliance on any content, including AI-generated outputs and third-party links, except where we cannot lawfully exclude such liability.
Indemnity
You indemnify us against losses or claims arising from your breach of these Terms, unlawful conduct, or infringement of third-party rights, except to the extent caused by our breach of law or these Terms.
Suspension/termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or used the Services unlawfully. You may stop using the Services at any time.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” above shows when the latest changes took effect. Your continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
